What is The History of Robot?

The word “robot” was first used in a 1921 play by the Czech writer, Karel ńĆapek. The play is called “R.U.R.” (Rossum's Universal Robots). Whereas the concept of robots has existed since the Industrial Revolution, when people began designing complex machines capable of performing labor and manufacturing tasks. As the 20th-century concept of “automation” progressed, people began to wonder if machines could be designed to replace humans. Robots have existed since antiquity, but have only recently been implemented as a common technology. Benefits of Robots in our Life

There are many benefits of robots in our daily lives. They help reduce the workload, provide consistency and accuracy in the work, and provide a safe environment for the workers. - They work fast and accurately: Robots can be programmed with accuracy and consistency which no human can match. - They are helpful in hazardous environments: Robots can be used in the places where humans can’t go. They can be used underwater, radioactive areas, etc. - They have longer life: Robots can be used for thousands of hours without any wear and tear. They don’t get tired. - They are helpful in the medical field: Cancer diagnosis and surgery, oncology, and dental surgeries can be performed by robots. - They create jobs: People who are designing robots, creating software for them and doing maintenance work for robots are all employed by robots. - They are helpful in space: Robots are used to explore space, send research equipment to other planets and collect samples from the moon. - People can learn from them: Robots can be programmed to do repetitive tasks. Students can learn programming by developing robots. - They are helpful in the agriculture field: Robots can be used in the agriculture field to monitor crops and soil quality, and water the plants.


Disadvantages of Robots in our Life

There are some disadvantages of robots in our lives. While they are helpful in the medical field, they can be dangerous if they are not used properly. - They are not suitable for soft tissues: The tissues that have soft spots can’t be operated with precision by robots. So, they are not suitable for surgery in the abdomen, knee joint, and the thyroid gland. - They can be dangerous: While being helpful in the medical field, they can be dangerous if they are not used properly. - They are not suitable for surgeries in orthopedic joints: They are not suitable for surgeries in orthopedic joints like the knee and hip joint. - They are suitable for repetitive tasks: They are suitable for repetitive tasks that can be programmed to avoid human error. - They can’t be used for surgeries in the brain: They are not suitable for surgeries in the brain because the brain is a very delicate organ. - They are not suitable for surgeries in the abdomen: They are not suitable for surgeries in the abdomen as they can’t analyze images as a human surgeon can. - They cost more: While they have many benefits, they also have many disadvantages. They cost more than human surgeons do.


Final words: Should we be afraid of robots?

Robots have been a part of our lives since a long time. They aren’t new to us. But, we have started to fear them more since they have become more common and advanced in the recent years. We should not be afraid of robots. Instead, we should learn to use them in a constructive way. Robots are here to stay for a long time. They are helping us in many ways. We just need to know how to use them.
